Community Guidelines

How everyone on SkillKnex is expected to behave. These Guidelines sit alongside our Terms of Service, and breaking them can lead to content removal or account action.

1. The basics

SkillKnex is a place to learn real skills and take real action. These Guidelines apply to everything on the platform: lessons, prompts, Action Proofs, comments, profiles, and messages. They form part of our Terms of Service.

If content or behaviour breaks these Guidelines, we may remove the content and take action on the account. Serious or repeated breaches can lead to permanent bans.

2. Be respectful and keep people safe

Treat others how you'd want to be treated. The following are not allowed:

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, or targeted abuse
  • Hate speech or attacks based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic
  • Encouraging or glorifying violence, self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders
  • Content that promotes dangerous or illegal activity, or regulated goods (e.g. weapons, drugs)

3. Keep it genuinely educational

Lessons and prompts must teach a real, general skill or idea that a learner can act on. Low-effort, off-topic, or non-educational content may be removed.

No product promotion. Don't use a lesson, prompt, or Action Proof to advertise, endorse, link to, or sell a specific product, project, service, brand, token, investment, or item. Teach the skill: don't pitch the purchase.

If content is sponsored, or you have a commercial relationship connected to it, you must disclose this using the in-app disclosure controls before posting.

4. No hateful, explicit, or harmful content

Don't post, upload, or share content that is:

  • Sexually explicit, pornographic, or otherwise adult in nature
  • Graphically violent, gory, or shocking
  • Hateful, discriminatory, or harassing (see Section 2)
  • Misleading or harmful misinformation, including dangerous health, financial, or safety claims presented as fact
  • Illegal, or that facilitates illegal activity

5. Protect children

We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Never post, request, or share content that sexually exploits, endangers, or abuses a minor.

We remove such content immediately, ban the accounts involved, preserve evidence, and report to appropriate authorities or reporting bodies where required or appropriate, including the IWF, law enforcement, and any legally required regional reporting body. See Section 7 of the Terms of Service.

6. Keep it real

SkillKnex is built on genuine action. Authenticity matters:

  • Don't fake "I Did This" actions or submit Action Proofs for things you didn't actually do
  • Don't manipulate engagement: no bots, fake accounts, coordinated likes/comments, or schemes to inflate views, rankings, or rewards
  • Don't game SKX, XP, badges, or referrals through fraud or multiple accounts
  • Don't impersonate other people, creators, or organisations, or misrepresent your qualifications

7. Respect privacy and ownership

Only post content you have the right to share, and respect other people's privacy:

  • Don't share someone else's personal information, or images/video of identifiable people (especially children), without their consent
  • Don't post content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other rights: see our Copyright & Takedown Policy
  • Don't expose private conversations, addresses, or documents

8. Use AI responsibly

AI tools are welcome, but be honest about them. If an Action Proof contains AI-generated or materially edited media, disclose it using the in-app controls. Don't present AI-generated content as a genuine real-world proof. When you use external AI tools with prompts from SkillKnex, follow those tools' own rules.

9. Reporting and how we enforce

You can report content or users with the in-app report tools, and block anyone from their profile. We aim to review reports within 48 hours and we act on illegal content in line with applicable law, including the UK Online Safety Act 2023 where it applies.

What can happen

Depending on the breach, we may remove or restrict content, issue a warning, limit features, suspend an account, or permanently ban it. Some removals are recoverable; serious or repeat breaches are not. We act immediately and without notice in cases of severe harm, such as CSAE.

Appeals

If you think we got it wrong, email support@skillknex.com with the subject "Content Appeal - [your username]". We aim to respond within 5 business days.
